Mardi Gras (pronounced as mardigra) is a French word for Fat Tuesday. It's a term coined in reference to the practice a day before (for some weeks before) the start of Lent which is Ash Wednesday. During this celebration, people enjoy for the last time fatty and rich food before starting their fasting for the Lenten season.
Mardi Gras is a festive celebration where people wear colorful masks and costumes. Their are also popular street dances, sports competition and overflowing food and drinks.
