I just had a return due to the wedding being canceled.

Of course I accepted the return (my return policy is 30 days no reason needed).

It seems there is an entire etiquette to canceling a wedding. 

It is potentially such a traumatizing experience and in my communications I feel as if I am walking on egg shells.
