St. Patrick's Day


It's St. Patrick's Day in about 2 weeks. On that special day, many young girls will wear their favorite sundresses or girls Easter dresses to attend parties and join parades. • March 17 is Paddy’s Day or St. Patrick’s Day. People believe he died on March 17 in the year 461 AD.

• According to legend, St. Patrick used the shamrock, a three-leafed clover, to explain the Holy Trinity to the Irish people.

• In America, many states hold parades to celebrate the holiday and even dye their rivers and canals green!
• In Ireland, children wear orange, white and green badges while girls wear green ribbons in their hair.
