Thanksgiving Day Fun Facts

Did you know that aside from America, there are 7 other countries that celebrate Thanksgiving? These are Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Korea, Liberia, and Switzerland.
Thanksgiving is close to everyone's heart because this is the time when families are gathered around enjoying a sumptuous meal and giving thanks to everything that has been given to them this year.

In New York, every Thanksgiving day Macy's holds a Thanksgiving Day Parade that has been a family favorite.

And here are simple Thanksgiving quotations to guide you:

"I do not think of all the misery, but of the glory that remains. Go outside into the fields, nature and the sun, go out and seek happiness in yourself and in God. Think of the beauty that again and again discharges itself within and without you and be happy."

- Anne Frank

"Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds."
- Theodore Roosevelt

"Your friend is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving."
- Kahlil Gibran

"Thanksgiving Day comes, by statute, once a year; to the honest man it comes as frequently as the heart of gratitude will allow."
- Edward Sandford Martin

Wishbone on Turkey Day

There are some beliefs that whoever gets the wishbone can choose another family member and hold each ends of the wishbone while they say their wishes and then pulls it in different directions. Whoever gets the larger bone, will have his or her wish come true.
