The news anchor was right in saying that it's hard to not be happy for the kid when you know she feels better with her new "look" after the surgery. A more inexpensive and subtle way of making young girls pretty about themselves is allowing them to choose girls dresses that they love and would want to wear. Make them decide on their own and make them feel special.
