The First Holy Communion has traditions different from one country to another. In some countries like the Philippines it is uncommon for the First Communicant to wear a veil. Most of the time, the school organizes the student's First Communion and require them to wear the school uniform instead of the usual white first communion dress.
In the US, girls are required to wear White First Communion dress and a white veil to symbolize purity and innocence. While boys usually wear their finest suit.
