There’s something about dresses I absolutely love. I especially love bouncy, flowing pieces that make me feel like I’m eternally walking in a field of daisies. With elitedresses.com, my love for dresses would be completely obvious. And it’s a passion I’m sharing with my daughter.

I have recently taken on a spring project with my daughter. Unearthed from our spring cleaning were dozens of girls party dresses she’d grown out of. We were intending to donate to charity, but I just couldn’t let go of a few beautiful pieces. So we decided to turn them into skirts that she can use.

Here’s what we did with an old baby doll dress:
· Cut off the top of the dress, just above the armhole.
· Take a piece of garter and wrap it around your daughter’s waist. Sew the ends together to form a circle.
· Sew the garter into your new waist hem.
· Viola! You have a skirt!

If you’re handy with a sewing machine, the project takes five minutes and it is absolutely fun to do! Next, my daughter and I pulled out her girls party dresses with tulle skirts. These turned out great, and we matched them with casual tops that made her look like a ballerina princess. The best part is—we came out with a complete new wardrobe. Everyone thought the skirts were brand new!
