e-Checks (PayPal)

We don't accept checks usually because they are a headache.  Unfortunately, when a customer orders through PayPal, its possible to do an e-Check.

My wife has heard the most amazing stories from when we did accept checks on why we have not received a check.  Lots of promises and often, the promised check never arrived. 

In order to keep our life simple  we prefer:

• Order Received, paid, ship ASAP 

Instead of:

• Get order, payment is a check, remind person to send us the check, check not received so we send a reminder, keeping order in limbo until either check is received, or we cancel the order.

Which is why we stopped accepting checks.  Simple is good.

But if you accept PayPal, you can't block e-checks. 

Here is the note PayPal sends when a person uses an eCheck.

If the person does
XYZ (something@some e-mail.com ) has sent you an eCheck payment of $ XX USD.
It usually takes about 3-5 days for you to receive the money (estimated: date range). We recommend that you wait until the money arrives before shipping items. We'll email you when this eCheck payment has been deposited into your accoutnt.

Which is a challenge.  If a person adds a credit card to their PayPal, the payment is instant and avoids the delay.

Soon as the eCheck clears we send out the order to avoid the check bouncing.

Personally, I like this newer and brighter sash color than the original I sold. I can't wait to get hold of them and shoot a few photos to share with you. Anyway, these dresses are perfect for budget conscious Moms like myself  because we're able to make different looks in a single dress by changing the sash colors. 

Competitor Sites - Not my fault...

Sometimes I am out of stock of a dress and the manufacturer is also and delivery is a while.  Or sometimes the manufacturer has discontinued it because they can't get the fabric.

In that case I suggest the customer go buy from a competitor, and sometimes I"ll even provide some url's from a quick google search.

One time the customer told me the competitors price was so much higher than mine.  Unfortunately nothing I can do about that.  I wish I could do more.

I was doing that yesterday for a pretty dress that I only have one left, of the wrong size for the customer.  I was surprised at what I found on competitor site.  They do not accept returns or exchanges at all.  And they have two stores in Malls as well as a web site!  And if you order from them, the order is not complete unless they contact you to say they can actually fulfill the order!  And if you order from them and they don't have the item, they just cancel the order.  And then you have to check the status and find out its been canceled. Wow!

Everything on elitedresses I try to keep up to date so you can order, and we can ship it right away.  When an item is not available, the dress should get hidden so you can't order.  We are not 100% perfect on this, but we try.  Our goal is to make buying as easy as possible for our customers.  Its interesting the amount of emails asking if an item is in stock and how soon it can be shipped. Many are amazed when I say 2-4 days for it to arrive.  It sounds like some businesses actually take 2-4 days to just ship a dress.  We try very hard to ship an order within 1 business day, many of them the same day.

Return Policy - How it Evolves

EliteDresses return policy is 100% Guarantee/Return Policy is a work in progress.

I am very open to suggestions for improving it.  Basically when I get a return that bothers me, or a series of them, the return policy gets updated.

My goal with the return policy is to be fair and ethical to the customer, as well as to us.  Sometimes it gets hard, but I always try to error on the side of the customer and put the customer first by providing great customer service.

Sizing Headaches

The problems I see that cause returns,exchanges are:

1. The child is in between sizes.  They wear a size 7, but I sell dresses in size 6 or 8.  I recommend a size 8, but sometimes a size 6 is needed.

2. The child is extra tall.  Size charts do not show fit and it depends on the style with where arm holes are, how long the dress is, and also where the waist is.

3. The child is a bit wide.  Again, it depends on the style for what will look good.
