Twitterific

Hi guys! For weeks now I've been joining #GNO discussion in Twitter and the conversations never failed to give me new things to learn. Just yesterday, the topic was about art for our kids. The discussion was sponsored by Crayola and they had plenty of giveaways and coupons for #GNO tweeps. It was really awesome and I meet really amazing people and fellow moms.
Most of us, if not, all of us were brought to memory lanes as we recall how far long we were using crayola products! And how it helped us bond with parents, siblings, friends and finally how it helped us bond with children of our own.

One tweet I can't forget is that crayola's smell is the most recognizable smell in the whole world! :)
All of us would agree that we thank crayola for being non-toxic. And I guess this is what makes a product sell well. It should be friendly and good for the kids.

That's why in EliteDresses, we are always on our toes to provide dresses that are safe for kids to wear. Above all else, kids' safety is the most important.

PS
I hope we could be friends in twitter...it's http://twitter.com/EliteDresses

Chinese Valentine's Day is coming!

August 17 is Chinese Valentine's Day. It's very popular in China and Taiwan where in most of the girls give chocolates to the boy they like. Most boys often dread this day since they hate getting attention from girls and surely their friends will tease them. :)

Boys also give lotus flower to the girl they like just like Western Valentine's Day tradition. To give you an idea how Chinese Valentine's Day started, read this really nice article about it, http://tinyurl.com/lfpuq8

May we then suggest pretty girl's dresses for this occasion! :)

The Uniform Project

I came across a beautiful blog for a cause. It's called The Uniform Project. One lady pledged to wear seven dresses of similar design (one for each day of the week) for 365 days. The proceeds of her blog earnings and donations will go to an organization that sends Indian children to school.

She also accepts accessory donations and style suggestions! Go over at her website and surprise yourself :)

The Uniform Project

For frugal moms like me, this could give us inspiration to make use of what we have in our closet and just spice it up with accessories!

But for our kids who usually outgrows their dresses, it's wise to spend less but make sure the quality is also good because your younger kids might still be able to reuse it.
This is precisely why EliteDresses aims to provide you with affordable yet good quality dresses.

Happy Shopping!

Chinese Bride and her 1.4 long wedding dress

It's so sweet that the groom hand made the wedding dress for his bride. *awww*

http://preview.tinyurl.com/n235xc

I like that the bride's wearing angel wings like her flower girls... The wedding dress looks really plain and simple, well except for the long train but I bet this wedding is not easily forgotten by their guests. Even the flower girl dresses were simple, but because of the creative concept of wearing angel wings, it looked cute. That's the trick, if you have a budget for a simple dress, be creative with accessories.

Chinese Father's Day Coloring

Hi, all. We're putting up coloring pictures about dads and daughters in our sister site to celebrate Chinese Father's Day on the 8th of August.

Father in Chinese sounds similar to the word "8" in Chinese. Therefore it is but fitting that the day for fathers is celebrated on the 8th of the 8th.

So look up these coloring pages for Chinese Father's Day, print and hunt for those crayons. You and your child can turn these pictures into greetings for dad on Sunday.

When it was your time to shine.....

Can you still recall the first time you became a flower girl? Can you still picture out the flower girl dress you wore? Was it hideous or pretty?

Personally, I was too young to remember but my Mom kept photos of those times I was the "belle of the ball". The flower girl dress I wore was not hideous at all, in fact I think the style is actually coming back. I was wearing white organza satin sleeveless flower girl dress with gold sash on the waist (which kinda looks like the one in the link sans the lace but instead with gold sash). My flower girl basket was lined with the same color as my sash plus a headband of the same color. The effect was pretty neat and cute. Maybe you can do the same on your wedding day? White and Gold is a nice motif. The gold color could signify abundance and white could signify your pure love for each other...see, isn't it cute? :)

I wish I could scan the picture and share it with you guys but I think this old photo needs restoration before you can actually appreciate it.

Anyway, why don't you send in your daughters' flower girl photo and share it with us instead?
