Let me just tell you how happy I am to know that more and more people are reading the blog! This blog is dedicated to helping moms and all those who could use some info on girls dresses, the how-tos, and the occasional parenting tips we offer. How to Choose Your Summer Wedding Colors

Summer is the most popular time for couples to tie the knot. Those going for a June wedding know very well how to enjoy the most colorful season of the year :-)

Choosing a color scheme for the wedding is one of the first things a bride must to do--not an overwhelming task, just super crucial! LOL. Well, simply look around and voila! Instant inspiration from mother nature! Yellow (gold works too) reflect the brilliance of the sun, while shades of blue represent the vast sky and the sea. Shades of red, purple and green represent flowers and new beginnings. White represents the intangibles: purity, loyalty, and other wholesome concepts. These colors all work well for summer weddings. Another nice accent to a summer wedding theme is the use of black. Adding black to a wedding color scheme may seem less conventional but it's surely catching on! How do I know? I get many orders for black flower girl dresses :-)

These colors all work well for summer weddings. Just remember, whatever wedding color theme you choose, be sure to weave it into the bridesmaid dresses,  flower girl dresses, the wedding cake, the invitations and of course the flowers!

We have all been thinking of monitoring their TV use and the messages they get from beauty magazines, but it turns out there is another medium we have to look out for: social networking,  especially FaceBook.

A big percent of 8-15 year olds say that Facebook is one of the top 3 most important things to them.

However, unlike TV, where we nosy adults can come and sit beside them and watch with them, using the computer is one-is-to-one.

Well, I think we shouldn't be snooping about our girls' affairs, but they should still be oriented about the proper use of the net, what to believe in, what to reject.  Maybe it's all about teaching our kids to be critical thinkers, perhaps?  That whatever they see, they should read more about it or ask the adults if there are issues they don't fully understand.  For us adults, since we can't stick our noses into their internet use all the time, we should send the message that we are open to their questions, or that if they find anything nice or fun in the net, they can share it with us anytime.  

Go Green with a Shrek-Themed Wedding

I'm sure you've heard about green homes, green cars, green cleaning products, green furniture, green ogres, green weddings. Wait, wait...Yep...Green ogres, check. Well it seems like green is everywhere these days. More and more people are going green :-) And by "going green" I don't just mean "environmental" or "organic," but also "fairy tale."

Green ogres were what Tracey and Vivian William wanted to look like on their wedding day. And it was a dream come true for them. The Shrek themed wedding was a success! The Welsh couple opted to go green on their wedding day when friends told them that they resembled Shrek and Fiona.Wow! Some people really know how to live out their fantasies. Hope they live happy ever after :-)
